Wonder Family Book Club: Make an Egyptian Artefact
Everyone in the grade got assigned an Egyptian artefact to work on for Egyptian Museum Day, which was in December. The teachers wrote all the assignments down on tiny scraps of paper, which they put into a fishbowl, and then all of us kids in the grade too turns picking the papers out of the fishbowl in assembly.

Our first activity as part of the Wonder Family Book Club is to make an Egyptian Artefact just like all the fifth graders at Beecher prep.
We’ve included a list of 12 Egyptian artefacts that you can print out, cut out and put in a bowl and get each member of the Book Club to pick out a piece of paper. DOWNLOAD HERE.
This is the first activity of the book club so that you have plenty of time to work on your artefact.
Each person should take some time to research their artefact. Maybe schedule a visit to your local library and check out some books about Ancient Egypt. Or use the internet to search and find out as much about your artefact as you can. Make sure that each person feels comfortable that they have enough knowledge about their artefact that they will enjoy the process of creating it!
Once you have your list of supplies, check your cupboards, or head to the craft/stationery shop and get everything you need, and then start CREATING! Perhaps if you’re listening to Wonder on audiobook, you could craft your artefacts while listening to the book? - double fun!!
